I liked your completed dress on you. It looks very good. My mother taught my sisters and myself to sew, as well as the Home Economics classes we took all through high school. They were excellent preparation for doing things for yourself. it is a real shame that our school boards think that teaching students to be self-reliant, and to teach skills that would stand them in good stead is no longer an option. Instead, they brainwash our students into thinking that they are only consumers, and it is their duty to follow anorexic models in draping their bodies with clothing meant to demean the person wearing it and to go into debt in order to achieve that goal. Vintage designs such as the one you made, are a great way to begin. My mother gave me many of her old patterns before she died, and although I did not make any of them, I enjoyed making clothes for myself and others. It is a very satisfying feeling and one that boosts any person's self worth to wear a creation they have made themselves. Good luck on future projects.
